Genealogy Workshop: Research Huddle, Thursday August 17

Join us at the library in the Special Collections Room and be part of our Research Huddle! In sports, a huddle is when the players gather in a circle to strategize, motivate, or celebrate. We think genealogists should do the same!

This is the perfect opportunity to dig into your personal history and tell your family’s story. Use the library’s print collections and research databases to progress with your fact-finding. We’ll gather to use library resources, share our successes, learn from fellow researchers, and overcome our research stumbling blocks!

Kindness Lantern Decorating, Wednesday August 16

Lanterns are a universal symbol of brightness, knowledge and guiding light. They show the way and provide hope in dark places. This year, The Alliance for Greater Good is hosting a Lantern Festival in September. At the gathering at South Mill Pond, participants will float paper lanterns in the pond as a way of encouraging the community to spread kindness, while raising funds for Seacoast Mental Health. The theme of the event is "Illuminating 400 Years of Community Kindness."
