Water Division cleans and inspects water storage tanks

On September 5 through 8, 2023 the City of Portsmouth Water Division is conducting routine inspections and interior cleaning activities on five water storage tanks associated with the Portsmouth Water System. The interior cleaning activities may cause some disturbance in the clarity of the water in the water system as a result of the stirring deposits that have accumulated in the tanks. All efforts to minimize this disturbance will be made; however, customers may observe cloudy water at their taps. If this occurs, customers are advised to flush cold water through their faucets.
