City Issues Water Supply Report for Second Quarter 2024

July 11, 2024

The City Water Department has published the Water Supply Report for the Second Quarter of 2024. Leading the report is detailed information regarding the fact that the Portsmouth and Pease drinking water systems are currently experiencing very high demands in the system due to irrigation and cooling system demands.

The Water Department asks that Portsmouth Water System customers be vigilant and efficient with their water usage and turn off their irrigation systems during rainy conditions.

Current drought conditions per the U.S. Drought Monitor, show the Seacoast area as “Abnormally Dry.” Portsmouth water systems are currently meeting water demands; however, if conditions remain hot and dry the City may request that customers reduce the use of irrigation.
